Caring for Your Cotton
Luxuriously soft and silky, organic cotton bedding can create the ultimate dreaming space.
In return, it needs your tender loving care. Here's how to make it go the long haul...
Washing Buddies
We recommend washing your new Weirdstock bedding in the machine on its own. This prevents any pilling from the abrasion of your other laundry.
It's also super important that you wash with similar colours.
Keep it Cool
There's no need for high temperatures to wash your 100% organic cotton bedding. This can damage and shrink the natural fibres of the material, and it will dull the bold colours of your Weirdstock print.
A cold wash, 30ºC or 40ºC, is the best temperature for organic cotton.
Some people believe the hotter the temperature, the more germs it kills. We're here to tell you, this isn't the case! 40ºC is enough to kill bacteria.
Use 40ºC if you need to, but we like 30ºC best for keeping the colours bright.
Take Good Care
Put the machine on a gentle, hand wash or delicate cycle.
For the first few times, wash your duvet cover and pillow cases inside-out.
Use gentle, eco-friendly detergent. To keep your Weirdstock prints intact, please no bleach or bleach alternatives!
Half the normal amount of detergent is just fine to wash your cotton bedding. This will reduce damage to the natural organic fibres.
The Afterparty
Hang loose! Organic cotton can shrink when tumble dried, so hang drying is best.
If you're in a rush and really need a boost, use the air only cycle on your dryer.
Iron on a medium heat. Ironing while a little bit damp will work best.
*Hot take* we love to straighten out our sheets with a hand-held steamer after they're already on the bed. Try it - you'll thank us later!
